Baptist Haiti Mission welcomes direct church involvement in our ministry in the form of short-term group visits. We believe that cross-cultural interaction, engagement, and exchange can be highly beneficial to all who are involved.
However, we also acknowledge the potential harm of these exchanges that can result in an unintentional cultural offense, financial or material dependency, paternalism, and/or a falsified view of self. This is why our personnel provides visiting groups with the study booklet Helping Without Hurting in Short-Term Missions. We seek to facilitate cross-cultural exchange in a way that is most effective in contributing to the alleviation of poverty in Haiti and ultimately brings glory to Jesus Christ, and are here to answer any questions you may have.
It is our hope that all churches and individuals who join our ministry on a short-term trip would see the experience as a piece of a much larger narrative, and commit to partnering with BHM in some way.
Short-term groups are scheduled based on need and availability.
If you're church is already one of our ministry partners and interested in planning a short term mission trip, please fill out the Missions Interest Survey.
